The Director of Equal Opportunity and Title IX develops and implements the program, policies and initiatives of the Office of Equal Opportunity and Title IX. The Director also implements, administers and monitors the University's compliance regarding civil rights laws, including federal and state equal opportunity/nondiscrimination laws and regulations, Title IX, the Clery Act, ADA/Section 504, and related University policies. As part of this responsibility, the Director also serves as the University’s Title IX Coordinator and ADA Coordinator. The Director oversees all aspects the University’s prompt and equitable resolution of reports of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation and sexual misconduct. The Director is also responsible for leading new and supporting existing University-wide programs and initiatives designed to prevent discrimination, harassment and sexual violence and provide education to students, faculty, and staff on such issues. In addition, the Director works closely with University leadership, faculty, staff and students to advance the University’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion by improving the University’s capacity to attract, retain, and leverage a diverse campus community in support of academic excellence. The Director is responsible for the strategic and operational functions of the department and serves as the fiscal administrator. This position reports to the AVP of Human Resources. The Director also has a direct dotted-line relationship to the Office or the President.
