What you will be doing: Enterprise Risk Framework & Governance Develop, maintain, and enhance the company’s ERM framework aligned with COSO ERM, NAIC ORSA guidance, and public company governance standards. Own the enterprise risk taxonomy, risk register, and risk assessment methodology. Facilitate annual and ongoing enterprise risk assessments. Ensure alignment between risk appetite, strategic objectives, and operating plans. Board & Executive Reporting Prepare and present risk reports to executive leadership, Audit Committee, and Board of Directors. Support Board risk education and deep dives on key risk topics. Monitor and report on key risk indicators (KRIs) and risk trends. Coordinate risk inputs into strategic planning and capital discussions Florida Regulatory & ORSA Oversight Lead the company’s Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) program, including documentation and stress testing. Coordinate ERM-related interactions with the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR). Monitor changes in Florida insurance regulation and assess enterprise impact. Support examinations, inquiries, and data calls related to enterprise risk management. Catastrophe, Underwriting & Reinsurance Risk Oversee enterprise-level catastrophe risk governance, including hurricane and weather exposure. Partner with Actuarial, Underwriting, and Risk Management teams on: Catastrophe modeling assumptions Reinsurance program structure and adequacy Risk tolerances and concentration limits Assess impacts of climate trends, inflation, and reinsurance market conditions. Operational, Technology & Cyber Risk Analyze enterprise risk and report on operational, vendor, technology, and cybersecurity risks. Partner with the CIO/CISO/Technology and Third-Party Risk teams to assess and monitor non-financial risks. Support SOX risk assessments and control alignment. Ensure risk considerations are embedded in major initiatives and transformations. Emerging Risk & Scenario Analysis Identify and assess emerging risks, including regulatory, legal, climate, market, and technology risks. Lead scenario analysis and stress testing to evaluate capital and solvency impacts. Support leadership decision-making with forward-looking risk insights. Risk Culture & Integration Promote a strong risk-aware culture across the organization. Embed ERM into business processes, decision forums, and governance committees. Provide guidance and training to business leaders on enterprise risk management practices. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Insurance, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in insurance risk management, actuarial, finance, or related disciplines.
  • Experience operating in a publicly traded or highly regulated environment required.
  • Deep understanding of homeowner’s insurance, catastrophe risk, and reinsurance
  • Strong knowledge of Florida insurance regulation and ORSA requirements.
  • Deep knowledge of P&C insurance products, pricing, and underwriting.
  • Strong financial, analytical, and organizational skills, with expertise in problem-solving, process improvement, change management, and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus among senior leadership, regulators, and diverse stakeholders to deliver solutions that align with customer and business needs.
  • Familiarity with catastrophe modeling tools and capital models.
  • Ability to learn new systems and applications quickly, with experience in developing policy forms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications such as Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
