We let our personalities shine, and we enjoy having fun. A day in the life... As the Director, responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight for hotel maintenance and operations. D.O.E will be responsible for maintaining the hotels physical assets, optimizing it's energy efficiency, and managing a team of skilled professionals to ensure guest and staff are safe, comfortable, and functional. The Director of Engineering will report directly to the Area GM Director.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field, required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in resort or hotel management, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record of achieving financial and operational goals.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in using property management systems and other relevant software.
- Ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions based on analytical thinking.
- Travel within the designated area as needed.
- Knowledgeable about industry best practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional appearance and presentation required.
- Meet NHHR background screening requirements.
Nice To Haves
- A master’s degree is preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant software applications, including CRM systems and analytics tools.
Responsibilities
- Implement an engineering and maintenance strategy aligned with the hotel's goals, focusing on efficiency, safety, and guest satisfaction.
- Establish long-term plans for facility upgrades, improvements, and capital projects in collaboration with senior management.
- Manage the engineering department, including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance evaluation.
- Develop a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Provide maintenance, repairs, and replacements of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
- Optimize equipment lifespan and minimize downtime by developing preventive maintenance programs.
- Maintain, repair, and replace mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems in accordance with safety regulations.

- Coordinate, plan, and supervise renovation, repair, and upgrade projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Work with external contractors, architects, and engineers as needed.
- Ensure renovating, repairing, and upgrading projects are completed within budget and on time by planning, coordinating, and supervising them.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment inventories.
- Maintain regular reports on engineering operations and ongoing projects for senior management.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, building codes, and industry standards by establishing and enforcing safety protocols and procedures.
- Make routine inspections to identify potential hazards and address them as soon as possible.
