you're the bridge between strategy and code Manage platform reliability and performance at enterprise grade - uptime, scalability, security, and comprehensive observability Provide hands-on technical guidance - unblock engineers, review complex implementations, and maintain engineering standards Make tactical technical decisions within established architectural patterns - implementation approaches, library choices, tooling decisions Collaborate with Product and Platform teams on technical requirements and feasibility while TPM manages cross-functional coordination Mentor and develop engineering talent - grow technical capabilities, conduct thorough code reviews, and build team depth What Success Looks Like Your team executes architectural vision flawlessly - what's on the blueprint matches what's in production Engineers deeply understand both what to build and why - they can make good local decisions aligned with overall architecture Code reviews are thorough and maintain high standards - architectural patterns are followed, quality gates are enforced Technical debt is managed within architectural guidelines - you know when implementation shortcuts are acceptable and when they're not Platform meets enterprise SLA requirements for uptime, performance, and security - monitoring catches issues before customers do You and the TPM work as a seamless partnership - technical excellence and delivery discipline reinforce each other The Chief Architect can focus on strategy and vision knowing implementation is in capable hands Team velocity is predictable and sustainable - engineers are growing, engaged, and producing their best work Post-mortems lead to real improvements - root causes are identified, action items completed, processes evolve Engineers are developing technical depth and taking on increasing ownership Required Qualifications 12+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 4+ years leading engineering teams in production environments Proven track record executing on technical vision defined by architects or technical leadership - you can spot architectural pattern violations, security issues, and quality problems before they reach production Strong communication skills - you can translate technical progress and risks into clear status updates for leadership Detail-oriented execution mindset - nothing falls through the cracks on your watch Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience Strong Preference For Experience leading teams of 10-15+ high-performing engineers in fast-paced environments Background in building enterprise platforms or products AI/ML platform integration experience or familiarity with data pipeline architectures Experience managing distributed or remote engineering teams Startup or high-growth environment experience where you've scaled teams and systems simultaneously Deep familiarity with observability, monitoring, and incident response best practices What You Bring Execution excellence over strategic vision - you're energized by taking architectural direction and making it real through excellent engineering Deep focus on technical quality - you care about code reviews, testing, architectural integrity, and engineering craftsmanship Collaborative partnership mindset - you work seamlessly with Technical Project Managers and architects, valuing each role's contribution Hands-on technical leadership - you can jump into code reviews, debug production issues, and unblock engineers when needed Team development focus - you mentor engineers, build technical depth, and create growth opportunities Bias for action within established guardrails - you make tactical decisions quickly while respecting architectural boundaries Transparent communication - you surface technical risks early and provide honest assessments of capability and capacity Bridge-builder between strategy and execution - you ensure the team understands not just what to build, but why it matters Comfortable with defined direction - you thrive when given clear architectural vision and accountability for technical excellence Sustainable velocity mindset - you balance speed with quality and keep teams productive long-term Why Join Us? This is an opportunity to build something from the ground up - a modern cloud platform that will transform how enterprises consume managed services.
