About The Position

In this critical leadership role, you will oversee all engineering and maintenance operations to ensure the safety, efficiency, and overall excellence of the hotel.

Requirements

• Minimum of five (5) years of hotel or commercial facilities engineering experience, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and life safety systems.
• Must have comprehensive knowledge of applicable Federal, state, and local building, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with maintenance management systems (CMMS) and basic computer applications.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications or college degree preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required licenses or certifications.
• Must be able to respond to emergency situations and be available for flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties.

Nice To Haves

• CPR and first aid certification preferred.
• Additional language ability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all engineering, maintenance, and facilities operations for the hotel.
• Ensure all building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, elevators, and mechanical systems) are properly maintained and operating efficiently.
• Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs to protect hotel assets and minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with all Federal, state, and local safety, health, fire, and building regulations.
• Respond promptly to guest concerns and maintenance issues, ensuring quick resolution and guest satisfaction.
• Prepare and manage the engineering department budget, control expenses, and manage capital improvement projects.
• Understanding of financial reports as it relates to labor and expense controls for the department.
• Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate engineering staff to ensure high performance and accountability.
• Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation related to maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
• Coordinate with hotel leadership, vendors, and contractors on repairs, renovations, and special projects.
• Practice and enforce all safety policies, procedures, and emergency preparedness plans.
