About The Position

Position Purpose The Director EMS supports the effective planning, coordination, and daily functioning of Trinity Health of New England (THOfNE) EMS and the Office of EMS Medical Direction. This role helps promote quality patient care, positive customer experiences, and operational consistency by assisting with process improvements, staff development, and communication efforts. The Director works collaboratively with EMS leadership, Operations Managers, and Medical Directors to ensure alignment with organizational goals and standards.

Requirements

  • Active licensure within the State of Connecticut as a Paramedic
  • Valid driver’s license with a driving history acceptable to insurance carrier
  • American Heart Association ACLS and PALS Certification
  • NIMS 700, 800 Certified
  • Maintains all medical control requirements for medical practice authorization at the Paramedic level
  • Knowledge of state and local EMS laws, rules, protocols and regulations
  • High School Graduate.
  • Five (5) years of EMS experience required
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience required
  • Must be willing to travel to all locations.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays with the ability to respond to immediate recall, participate in mandatory hold when required

  • ICS 100, 200, 300, 400 Certified, preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of the annual EMS operational plan and ensure alignment with broader THOfNE initiatives
  • Provide coordination and administrative support to Operations Managers to ensure staffing and resources meet service needs
  • Help monitor fleet utilization and provide recommendations on vehicle deployment based on operational data
  • Serve as a point of contact with the contracted Revenue Cycle Management vendor to support communication and issue resolution
  • Provide coaching and feedback to EMS colleagues as appropriate, reinforcing service excellence expectations
  • Support leadership in preparing materials, reports, and recommendations related to EMS operations
  • Assist in coordinating activities of the Office of EMS Medical Direction in collaboration with EMS Medical Directors
