About The Position

Provide leadership for the overall management of the day-to-day business operations of Medical Transportation. Provides operational direction to the EMS division as well as the MedKab, Vehicle Services, Communications Center, Education and Data Analyst divisions of Medical Transportation.

Requirements

  • B.S./B.A. in business administration, healthcare administration, management, or related field
  • 5 years prehospital care experience
  • 5 years of leadership experience
  • Attention to Detail: Achieves thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task.
  • Computer Skills: Basic ability to use a computer and applications that are associated with performing basic work tasks (navigate in Windows, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, ePro, etc.).
  • Creative Innovations: Applies creative problem solving to develop new insights into situations; develops fresh ideas that provide solutions to all types of workplace challenges.
  • Organization: Effective management of projects, deadlines, and workload prioritizing; putting things together in an orderly and functionally whole.
  • Public Speaking: Presents ideas, information and materials to individuals and groups. Prepares and provides structured delivery; commands attention and can manage group process during the presentation.
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross) Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certified within 180 Days
  • Nationally Registered EMT or Paramedic
  • Minnesota EMSRB Certified EMT or Paramedic within 180 Days

Responsibilities

  • Develops and drives strategic plans for each division in cooperation with the division leadership team.
  • Participates in and encourages quality improvement activities.
  • Drives process or technology within the divisions.
  • Responsible for deployment models and staffing decisions within the divisions based on strategic initiatives to HEMT metrics.
  • Reviews departmental expenditures to confirm necessity of purchase and options. Pursues cost savings or revenue generation within divisions.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance with all Federal and State agencies including the EMSRB, EMS Council and other government or accreditation agencies.
  • Responsible for developing and mentoring leaders within areas. Establishes performance standards, identification of goals and outcomes. Drives employee selection and ensures employees are orientated to the organization, business unit and position.
  • Represents HEMT at EMS or Community events by attending or delegating a representative. Represents HEMT at the Metro Region level, within the HealthEast Care System, and the Dakota County EMS Council. Involved in community MCI activities.
  • Guides leaders in the development and evaluation of action plans to improve outcomes to ensure compliance and success.
  • Partners with key internal and external stakeholders to position HealthEast Medical Transportation as a strategic business partner within the Fairview/HealthEast System and the communities we serve.
  • Fosters a culture of improvement, efficiency, and innovative thinking.
  • Performs other responsibilities as needed/assigned.
