About The Position

This position is responsible for: Plans, develops, implements, administers and monitors fundraising programs for an Area Command. Develops and secures funds to achieve/surpass fundraising goals through a variety of financial development strategies and functions including: (1) individual major gifts and individual donor upgrading; (2) corporate gifts and sponsorships; (3) foundation support for specific programs and projects; (4) capital campaigns; (5) special events; (6) United Way Funding; and (7) City, County, State, ad Federal Government grants. Key Responsibilities: Maintains up-to-date awareness of the latest fundraising strategies and incorporates them into the Area Command fundraising plans and strategies. Works with Area Commander, Advisory Board, councils and committees to develop local promotional plans; conducts presentations when needed. Assists with Christmas-related fundraising activities. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to understand and manage budgets and financial matters Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with specialized training in fundraising management
  • Four to six years’ experience of progressively responsible experience in fundraising and fundraising management
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
  • Ability to understand and manage budgets and financial matters
  • Valid State Driver's License

Nice To Haves

  • National Society of Fundraising Executives (NSFRE) certification as a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) preferable
