About The Position

Indy West Christian School is seeking a mission‑driven, organized, and relational Christian leader to serve as Director of Development . This role is responsible for overseeing the school's fundraising and development efforts, including donor cultivation, stewardship, alumni relations, and support of marketing initiatives, all in alignment with the mission and values of the school. The Director of Development reports to the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and works closely with school leadership, board members, volunteers, donors, and community partners to advance financial support for the school's ministry. Personal Qualifications: A personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ Active support of the school's Statement of Faith and Lifestyle Statement Commitment to serving as a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and conduct Evidence of spiritual maturity, integrity, and a clear Christian testimony Active membership in an evangelical church Ability to maintain confidentiality Demonstrated joy, stability, and professionalism in carrying out assigned duties Professional Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing, business, or a related field Fundraising or development experience preferred Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products Ability to coordinate, manage, and prioritize multiple projects Prior experience working in a fast‑paced environment preferred Duties and Responsibilities: Spiritual Leadership Personally reflect the purpose of the school by honoring Christ in every activity Integrate a biblical worldview and professional ethics into development practices Provide spiritual leadership in cultivating prayer, volunteer, and financial support Development & Fundraising Create and manage a comprehensive development plan Cultivate, steward, and strengthen donor and alumni relationships Plan, implement, and promote annual fund initiatives, online giving, monthly giving, and multi‑year opportunities Assist with capital or comprehensive campaigns as approved by the board Oversee stewardship of cash, in‑kind, and asset‑based gifts, including acknowledgments and receipting Establish and maintain accurate donor and alumni records and databases Administrative & Public Relations Prepare development budgets and advancement plans in collaboration with the CRO Support marketing and branding efforts of the school Communicate advancement activities to internal and external constituencies Serve as a fundraising and advancement resource to school leadership and board members Build and maintain relationships with churches, corporations, and foundations Participate in in‑service programs and ongoing professional development Perform other related duties as assigned Follow the Matthew 18 principle in all relationships and conflict resolution Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and repetitive movements, including keyboarding Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds
