About The Position

The Director of Development & Alumni Relations leads Annual Fund strategy, alumni relations, corporate sponsorships, donor stewardship, and key fundraising events that support the mission of Hill Country Christian School of Austin. The role partners closely with the Chief Advancement Officer and Head of School and strengthens relationships with parents, alumni, grandparents, and community partners. The position also supports capital campaign planning as needed.

Requirements

  • Committed Christ-follower who upholds the school’s Statement of Faith and Core Values; active church involvement.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; 5+ years of progressive development or nonprofit experience (Christian/independent school preferred).
  • Proven success in annual giving, donor engagement, corporate sponsorships, and event execution.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with donor databases and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute Annual Fund strategy, appeals, and campaign communications.
  • Lead donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and acknowledgment.
  • Manage faculty/staff giving and the request/award process with school leadership.
  • Oversee corporate matching gift opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong donor relationships through intentional year-round touchpoints.
  • Ensure timely acknowledgments and meaningful recognition.
  • Communicate the impact of giving on student experience.
  • Lead strategy, solicitation, stewardship, and fulfillment of sponsorships.
  • Build and maintain relationships with business and community partners.
  • Strengthen alumni and alumni-parent involvement through events, communications, networking, and volunteer opportunities.
  • Recruit and manage alumni councils and volunteers.
  • Maintain alumni data accuracy and records.
  • Direct major fundraising and appreciation events, including Knight with the Stars and the Annual Donor Appreciation Dinner.
  • Oversee alumni events, including reunions, homecomings, and networking gatherings.
  • Assist the Chief Advancement Officer and the Head of School with campaign strategy, donor engagement, events, and communications.
  • Support reporting and donor stewardship activities related to campaign efforts.
  • Oversee donor database accuracy, gift processing, and acknowledgment workflows.
  • Track fundraising performance through reports and dashboards.
  • Serve on the Board Development Committee and collaborate with Admissions, Marketing, Athletics, and school leadership.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
