About The Position

VIN IQ is hiring a hands-on, quota-carrying Director of Dealer Sales to grow revenue directly with automotive dealers. You will personally prospect, run discovery/demos, and close dealer deals, while building a repeatable sales motion. You’ll receive some inbound/BDR-driven opportunities, but you must consistently self-source pipeline to hit quota. This is an IC-first, player/coach role with the opportunity to add leadership scope over time. The product is proven, onboarding is dialed in, and you’ll have the support needed to focus on selling. You’ll sell to dealer principals/GMs and marketing leaders. Reports to the CEO.

Requirements

  • 3+ years selling directly to automotive dealers in a quota-carrying role (B2B SaaS preferred)
  • Established dealer network (“Book of Business ”) with the ability to generate meetings quickly through relationships and referrals
  • Demonstrated ability to self-source pipeline through outbound and relationships (not dependent on inbound)
  • Proven discovery-to-close execution, including multi-stakeholder approvals
  • Startup-ready: high autonomy, fast pace, minimal support

Responsibilities

  • Own outbound and pipeline creation (calls, email, LinkedIn, referrals)
  • Leverage existing dealer relationships to open doors and accelerate meetings
  • Run full-cycle sales: discovery → demo → follow-up → close
  • Drive next steps, mutual action plans, and multi-stakeholder approvals within dealer groups
  • Maintain strong CRM hygiene and deliver accurate weekly forecasting
  • Help formalize the playbook: ICP, messaging, objections, stage exit criteria
  • Partner with Customer Success for clean handoffs and fast time-to-value
