Within CO+I, the Core Datacenter Services (CDS) team is responsible for improving overall availability and efficiency for Microsoft’s cloud business. We have multiple teams focused on both Microsoft and Lessor datacenter performance and all aspects of datacenter utilization effectiveness that includes power, water and labor. We are seeking an experienced and hands-on leader for the Director of Data Strategy and Insights role to be responsible for strategy, backlog management and collaborating with a broad cross-discipline team. We need a people manager who fosters an inclusive culture and growth mindset. You will partner effectively with teams across Cloud Operations and Innovation and Azure to design holistic solutions requiring technical depth to balance multiple technology options. You will have to understand the limitations of the existing technology and how to plot a course for a scalable solution that enables the future of AI datacenters. The ideal candidate combines extensive product ownership and experience with data systems to provide a democratized reporting offering that is made scalable through governance, reporting automation, and KPI standardization. This person will drive efforts to consolidate, rationalize, and simplify how teams across the organization access, consume, and trust data—eliminating redundant BI reports, reducing manual correlation, and creating clear data benchmarks for measuring business performance.
