About The Position

We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Director of Data Engineering to lead our data engineering strategy and execution. This role will be responsible for building and scaling a modern data platform that supports business intelligence, personalization, supply chain optimization, and AI/ML initiatives across the organization.

Requirements

• 8-10+ years of experience in data engineering or related fields, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience building and scaling cloud-based data platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Expertise in SQL, Python, Spark, and modern data stack tools.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and real-time data processing.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

• Experience supporting e-commerce, retail, or consumer brands is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of data engineers and architects.
• Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Partner with business leaders, product managers, and data scientists to deliver data solutions that drive business impact.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time streaming systems.
• Establish best practices for data governance, quality, and compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
• Evaluate and implement modern data tools and platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow, dbt).
• Drive innovation in data architecture to support personalization, predictive analytics, and AI/ML capabilities.
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure cost-effective use of third-party data services.
