Director of Customs and Trade Compliance
About The Position
As part of our focus on growth, process integration and service, we are now seeking a Director of Customs and Trade Compliance to build and grow our present structure of the company in the US. The primary responsibilities of this position would be to: Oversee the team of Customs Brokers and Entry Writers at Point US Compliance and regulatory matters Optimizing processes to increase efficiency & maximize performance Consistently delivering superior service to internal and external clients Fostering innovation, continuous improvement & operation excellence Developing strict controls and ensuring robust regulatory and bid compliance Forging win-win strategi alliances & building mutually profitable partnerships Possesses extensive knowledge of the changing market and how to utilize technology to optimize business opportunities
Requirements
- 15 years of experience in a similar role
- Familiar with US Customs, regulations and compliance, air, ocean and land methods of transportation
- US Customs Broker license holder
- Detailed and Organized
- Proficient at MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
- Very familiar with industry software such as Magaya or Cargowise
- Availability to travel once or twice per month
- Fast learner – able to grasp concepts outside area of expertise
