The Willow Brook Director of Culinary Services oversees all day‑to‑day operations of the Culinary Department at Willow Brook Assisted and Independent Living. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of supervisory experience required.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets, food service management, and cost control.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews, hires, trains, schedules, and evaluates dietary team members.
  • Develops employee schedules and ensures adequate staffing to meet resident needs for both assisted living and independent living, following established staffing patterns.
  • Provides relief work for dietary and culinary staff as needed to support operations.
  • Purchases, receives, inventories, and manages food and supplies using cost‑control measures.
  • Ensures food quality, safety, and consistency according to standardized recipes and menus.
  • Maintains compliance with federal/state regulations and organizational policies.
  • Develops and updates department policies and procedures.
  • Oversees menu development, forecasting, and ordering for resident meals.
  • Participates actively in resident activities and programs to enhance community life.
  • Leads resident dietary meetings and seeks feedback for improvement.
  • Collects data and participates in quality management initiatives.
  • Ensures safe work practices and coordinates equipment repairs.
  • Provides ongoing training and in‑service education for staff.
