The salary offered within this range will be based upon the geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level. Salary Range: $149,000.00 - $223,400.00 Purpose Statement: The Director of Costing is responsible to lead the Costing function for the AMER region, to increase revenue, margin, improve working capital and customer satisfaction in pursuit of Plexus’ enduring goals. To deliver operational excellence, the Director will develop regional costing strategies and processes that provide industry competitive pricing in support of new business development opportunities and existing customers. In addition to a sound regional strategy, this leader will acquire and grow great talent while creating an environment of inclusion where all team members can reach their full potential.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree with 10 or more years of related experience is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
• Employee must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills are essential.
• Computer literacy in multiple ERP systems and a solid understanding of Google Workspace or Microsoft Office is essential.
• Build a cohesive team of employees with an effective succession plan.
• Create a positive working environment with other functional leaders.
• Actively maintain positive employee relations.
• Must have good financial acumen.

Responsibilities

• Costing Solutions: Leads the development of common costing models and solutions to enable the delivery of total cost solutions for manufacturing, materials, test and logistics. Manage a cost model with value-add options that reflect current manufacturing site capabilities.
• Market Intelligence: Monitor current market conditions and their effect on the materials markup structure (i.e.: cost of capital, wages, inflation, etc.).
• Strategic Growth & Financial Stewardship: Drive a disciplined balance between aggressive market pursuit and rigorous financial stewardship. Partner closely with Sector Leadership to refine and execute pricing strategies that secure high-value new business wins while serving as the strategic "gatekeeper" for regional profitability. This leader must ensure that competitive pursuit strategies remain aligned with the AMER region’s operational financial commitments, proactively identifying and mitigating risks to protect margins and ensure P&L objectives are met without compromising growth momentum.
• Team Leadership: Lead the regional costing teams to achieve the best and most accurate possible cost to manufacture products within Plexus, including labor and materials. Directly responsible for the performance of the AMER Costing team.
• Organizational Communication: Provide costing-related guidance and direction to other areas of the organization that interact with the Costing team in order to facilitate achievement of company's business directions and objectives. Responsible to exemplify and hold their team accountable to demonstrating the Plexus Core Values. Leader will focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning, and ensuring their employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential.
