About The Position

TelyRx is a tech-enabled pharmacy revolutionizing access to prescription medications through next-day delivery, innovative technology, and seamless customer experience. We are breaking down barriers in healthcare to provide essential medications quickly, affordably, and reliably. We’re hiring a Director of Content to build TelyRx’s content and editorial function from the ground up. This is a 0-to-60 role: you will develop the strategy, create the operating system, launch production, and deliver measurable organic growth—while staying close to the work (writing, editing, publishing, optimizing) as needed. This role is for a senior content leader who is search-first by instinct, deeply fluent in technical SEO and modern publishing workflows, and who thrives in fast-moving environments where you identify gaps and close them without waiting for perfect inputs.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in content, editorial, and SEO-driven growth roles, including ownership of organic performance.
  • Demonstrated success building a content program from scratch (or meaningfully rebuilding/accelerating one).
  • Deep SEO expertise: keyword research, intent modeling, SERP analysis, content briefs, on-page optimization, internal linking, and measurement.
  • Strong copywriting and editing skills with a portfolio of content that ranks and performs.
  • Technical publishing proficiency: CMS fluency, on-page QA, metadata/structured content basics, and collaboration with engineering on publishing needs.
  • Experience recruiting, managing, and scaling freelance/contract writer networks.
  • A scrappy, self-directed operating style—comfortable identifying gaps, making decisions, and shipping fast.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare, pharmacy, regulated categories, or other high-trust domains.
  • Familiarity with E-E-A-T-oriented content practices and quality frameworks for sensitive topics.
  • Experience partnering closely with UX/product teams on information architecture and content-driven experiences.
  • Comfort with analytics tools and workflows (e.g., Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs/Semrush, Looker/Mode, etc.).
  • Search-first mindset: You naturally start with intent, demand, and measurable outcomes.
  • Builder mentality: You can create structure where none exists—and you enjoy it.
  • Velocity with rigor: You move fast, but you don’t ship sloppy work.
  • High ownership: You don’t wait to be told; you notice gaps and close them.
  • Strong judgment: You can balance user needs, business goals, and quality in a high-velocity environment.

Responsibilities

  • Search-first editorial strategy and execution
  • Build and lead an organic content strategy rooted in keyword demand, intent, and conversion outcomes.
  • Develop content architectures (topic clusters, programmatic opportunities where appropriate, internal linking strategy) that scale.
  • Produce and continuously optimize content that ranks, converts, and supports the end-to-end customer journey.
  • Build the content function from scratch
  • Create the editorial operating model: intake, briefs, production, review, QA, publishing, optimization, refresh cadence, and performance reporting.
  • Establish content standards: voice, style, on-page SEO requirements, templates, and quality checklists.
  • Stand up the tooling and workflows to ship high-quality content quickly and repeatedly.
  • High-velocity publishing and optimization
  • Own the publishing pipeline end-to-end, including CMS workflows, metadata, structured content, internal linking, and basic technical QA.
  • Partner with product/design/engineering as needed to improve templates, site structure, page speed considerations, and content discoverability.
  • Run content updates and refreshes to protect and grow rankings over time.
  • Copywriting excellence
  • Write and edit high-performing content across education, category pages, landing pages, and other high-intent surfaces.
  • Elevate quality and clarity while maintaining speed, compliance awareness, and brand voice.
  • Build and manage a writer network
  • Build, vet, and manage a network of writers (including subject-matter expertise where needed).
  • Create repeatable briefing and feedback loops to ensure consistent output and measurable improvements.
  • Ensure writers can produce search-first content that meets TelyRx standards for accuracy, readability, and performance.
