About The Position

Verse Medical is a well-funded Series C company dedicated to modernizing healthcare infrastructure by replacing outdated systems with advanced software. As the Director of Compliance Operations, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the systems that ensure compliance with CMS and payor regulations, including managing facilities, accreditations, and licenses. This role involves designing processes, overseeing operations, and building a small team, with a strong emphasis on accurate, on-time, and zero-defect execution.

Requirements

  • 5-10+ years in operations management, ideally in healthcare or a highly regulated space, and ideally within compliance or audit operations.
  • Willing and interested in learning the ins and outs of the DME space.
  • Extensive experience managing operational processes with lots of stakeholders.
  • Process design skills, including building SOPs, controls, and trackers that teams actually use.
  • Zero defect mindset with exceptional writing and citation skills.
  • Calm operator in a fast paced environment.
  • Comfortable coordinating across RCM, payor relations & operations.

Responsibilities

  • Own the machinery that keeps Verse Medical compliant with CMS and payors (e.g. ensuring facilities, accreditations, and licenses are always current).
  • Design the compliance process.
  • Run the compliance work.
  • Build a small compliance team.
  • Maintain accreditation requirements such as policies, logs, training, disaster plans, and environment of care.
  • Lead mock surveys and corrective actions.
  • Keep facilities ready for audits & reaccreditations every day.
  • Own state DMEPOS licenses, renewals, expansions, and relocations.
  • Manage NPIs, PTANs, revalidations in PECOS, surety bonds, and CLIA if applicable.
  • Track expirations and filings with no lapses.
  • Manage compliance requirements for downstream entities and within partnerships.
  • Deliver training to front line teams.
  • Implement simple audits to confirm adoption.
  • Hire and coach a small pod such as a licensing & compliance coordinator and a QA analyst.
  • Implement lightweight dashboards that cover audit cycle times, overturn rates, error categories and license statuses.
