Director of Community Development
About The Position
Albemarle County is seeking a Director of Community Development to lead the implementation of major community development policies, programs, and strategies recently adopted by the Board of Supervisors. This role is well suited for a seasoned planning or zoning professional who excels at turning policy direction into clear, workable processes and consistent outcomes. The Director will oversee implementation of the County’s Comprehensive Plan, zoning ordinance modernization, and process improvements. Success in this role requires strong judgment, disciplined follow-through, and the ability to guide complex initiatives to completion in a transparent, service-focused environment.
