Directs and oversees the operations and activities of the Ohio State University emergency 911 call center that also uses real-time data and technology to enhance law enforcement operations, focusing on situational awareness and providing actionable intelligence to first responders. The Communications and Security Technology Division of the Department of Public Safety is responsible for the delivery of public safety dispatching, radio communications, and handling emergency 9 -1-1 and non-emergency calls for service to the university. Additionally, the division monitors and responds to security, fire and environmental alarms, campus video systems, license plate reader information, and manages drone as first responder operations. The use of various security technology sources allows the division to convert real-time data into actionable information that is communicated to first responders in the field. The division also conducts security assessments of campus facilities and recommends appropriate security technology.
