About The Position

The Director of Clinical Quality Improvement (DCQI) is a key member of the hospital management team, providing leadership and oversight for the strategic development and implementation of quality and patient safety programs, including performance improvement, patient safety, and accreditation. This role involves planning, organizing, and directing the managerial and operational activities necessary to support these services. The DCQI is responsible for fostering a Culture of Safety, ensuring effective use of performance improvement methodologies, and maintaining data integrity, validity, and reliability. The position serves as the primary liaison with The Joint Commission, CMS, and other relevant regulatory agencies, overseeing continuous survey readiness processes. The DCQI collaborates with the Medical Staff to promote evidence-based quality and safety, focusing on patient-centered care for optimal patient outcomes, and ensures that quality improvement goals align with and support organizational goals and priorities. Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight to the strategic development and implementation of the quality and patient safety programs (performance improvement, patient safety, and accreditation)
  • Plan, organize, and direct the managerial and operational activities of the infrastructure required to support quality and patient safety services
  • Provide leadership in the promotion of a Culture of Safety, effective use of performance improvement methodologies, and data integrity, validity, and reliability
  • Serve as the liaison with The Joint Commission, CMS, and other pertinent regulatory agencies
  • Oversee the organization’s continuous survey readiness processes
  • Work collaboratively with the Medical Staff to promote evidence-based quality and safety, patient-focused care aimed at optimal patient outcomes
  • Ensure the quality improvement goals are aligned and support organizational goals and priorities
