Director of Chatham Music and Arts Daycamp Chatham University Music and Arts Day Camp requires a dynamic and experienced Day Camp Director to lead our summer camp program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, strong organizational skills, and the ability to create a fun and safe environment for campers. The Camp Director will oversee all aspects of the camp, including planning activities, managing staff, and ensuring the well-being of campers

Requirements

A bachelor's degree in education, recreation, or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience working with children in a camp or childcare setting.
Experience working in a leadership position is preferred
Current CPR and First Aid certifications
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
Passion for working with children and creating memorable camp experiences

Responsibilities

Oversee and coordinate camp communications strategy, including timely response to email and phone inquiries and efforts to improve marketing.
Develop and implement a comprehensive camp program, including daily activities and special events.
Recruit, hire, and train camp staff.
Oversee the daily operations of the camp, including scheduling, staffing, and budget management.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and licensing requirements.
Provide leadership and guidance to the camp staff.
Foster a positive and inclusive camp culture.
Resolve conflicts and address disciplinary issues.
Communicate effectively with parents, campers, and staff.
Plan and implement engaging and age-appropriate activities.
Supervise campers during activities to ensure safety and participation.
Adapt activities to meet the needs of all campers, including those with special needs.
Serve as the camp’s central liaison for interfacing with Chatham personnel.
