About The Position

The Director of Catering and Sales at Villanova Dining Services is a pivotal leadership role focused on driving revenue growth and enhancing the catering experience across campus. This position involves strategic planning, coordination, and execution of various catering events, ensuring alignment with the university's commitment to excellence, sustainability, and community engagement. The director will lead the development of the Cabrini Campus Catering department, fostering a culture of exceptional service and teamwork while managing personnel and adhering to financial accountability and food safety compliance.

Requirements

  • Five to seven years of proven experience in event planning, marketing, or a related role, ideally within a dining or hospitality context.
  • Strong creative and strategic thinking skills with the ability to develop and implement innovative ideas.
  • Proficiency in social media and digital marketing strategies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse student groups.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Event Management, Hospitality or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue growth by developing and implementing strategies for large-scale events across campus.
  • Provide leadership and oversight in planning, coordination, staffing, and execution of catering events.
  • Establish and grow the Cabrini Campus Catering department, creating processes and standards to enhance offerings.
  • Ensure operations reflect the mission and values of Villanova Dining Services, fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and development of catering staff, ensuring professionalism and excellence.
  • Manage financial aspects including budgeting and cost control to optimize profitability.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation protocols, conducting training and audits.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef of Catering to manage food, supplies, and beverage ordering.
  • Establish service standards and assist in training all catering staff, including RAMP training.
  • Engage with local associations and networking opportunities to promote catering services.
