About The Position

Team8 is a global venture group that builds and invests in companies at the intersection of Fintech, Cybersecurity, Data-AI, and Digital Health. We provide entrepreneurs with an "unfair advantage" by providing deep domain expertise and access to a global network of corporate leaders. Team8 is seeking a strategic and high-energy Director of Business Development to lead GTM orchestration for our Fintech portfolio. This is not a traditional BD role; you will sit at the center of our Fintech ecosystem, acting as a force multiplier for our portfolio companies and a bridge between emerging technologies and the world’s leading financial institutions. You will be responsible for building the "connective tissue" that helps our entrepreneurs validate their ideas, find their first customers, and scale their global distribution.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in Business Development, Strategic Partnerships, or Enterprise Sales within the Fintech or Banking sector.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with C-level executives at Tier-1 and 2 financial institutions.
  • Experience in the US banking Market.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex technology into a compelling business value proposition.
  • Analytical & Systematic: You are process-oriented, love CRM hygiene, and believe that great BD is a mix of art and data.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a Venture Capital / Startup Studio environment or a high-growth Fintech unicorn is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Acceleration (Growth & Sales) Create Opportunities: hands-on generation of opportunities for our portfolio companies- Open the door for them and assist them in navigating complex sales cycles.
  • Strategic Matchmaking: Leverage the Team8 network to initiate high-impact introductions and partnerships that accelerate revenue and commercial milestones.
  • Build strategic assets to repeatidly generate value for our companies.
  • Market Validation Thesis Stress-Testing: Work closely with our ideation team to validate new ideas. You will engage with industry leaders to enable gathering "ground-truth" feedback on product-market fit before a company is even formed.
  • Design Partner Recruitment: Secure early-stage design partners and "alpha" customers for companiesin the early days.
  • Due Diligence: support hands-on DD processes to help the investment team make in-depth decisions
  • The Innov8 Village: Executive Ecosystem C-Suite Relationship Management: Build, curate, and manage our Innov8 Village, an exclusive network of banking and fintech executives.
  • Strategic Engagement: Design and lead high-level executive briefings, roundtables, workshops and VIP events that position Team8 as a thought leader and a primary source of innovation for global banks.
  • The Center of Excellence (Operations & Insights) Institutionalize GTM Knowledge: Create repeatable playbooks and assets that portcos can use to professionalize their own BD and sales functions.
  • Data as an Asset: Manage and analyze activity within our CRM to turn "calls and meetings" into actionable market intelligence and measurable portfolio growth.
