About The Position

The Director of Business Development is responsible for driving growth across the organization’s post acute service lines. This leader develops strategic partnerships, strengthens referral pipelines, and leads market expansion efforts to support census, revenue growth, and organizational visibility. This position will be based in Texas, overseeing Business Development for the state while also leading the Post Acute Business Development department across multiple states, with all Post Acute BD roles reporting to this position. The role requires a strong understanding of healthcare operations, value based care, referral dynamics, and the competitive landscape in post acute services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 5 years of business development experience in healthcare field
  • Proven track record driving census and revenue growth in multi-site healthcare operations.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to lead teams, manage complex initiatives, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Heavy travel required

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities within post-acute markets.
  • Develop and execute annual strategic growth plans aligned with organizational goals.
  • Monitor trends in post-acute care, reimbursement changes, and regulatory shifts to guide market strategy.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key referral sources such as hospital discharge planners, case managers, physicians, payers, and community partners.
  • Establish and manage preferred provider agreements, clinical collaboration opportunities, and network partnerships.
  • Conduct on site visits, presentations, and business reviews with referral partners to strengthen engagement.
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of business development representatives, liaisons, and/or community outreach staff.
  • Set performance expectations, track KPIs, and provide ongoing coaching.
  • Ensure sales activities are aligned with organizational priorities and quality-of-care standards.
  • Analyze referral trends, census performance, and service-line metrics to identify opportunities and challenges.
  • Produce regular reports for executive team review.
  • Utilize CRM or analytics tools to track pipeline activities and conversion outcomes.
  • Work with marketing leadership to develop campaigns, outreach materials, and digital presence.
  • Represent the organization at community events, professional associations, and healthcare networks.
  • Ensure messaging is consistent with brand strategy and regulatory guidelines.
