About The Position

The Director of Billing and Client Services oversees the daily operations of the Billing Department, ensuring effective communication, accurate work execution, and alignment with revenue cycle objectives. This role ensures that all staff meet performance expectations related to medical billing processes and workflow outcomes. Serving as the primary point of contact between PMB and its clients, the Director must communicate professionally, foster strong working relationships, and use effective leadership to guide the team in achieving departmental goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in accounting/finance/business management, or HealthCare Administration or equivalent in experience
  • 5 -10 years’ experience in Medical Billing
  • 3 -5 years supervisory experience in a HealthCare Setting
  • Strong experience of medical insurance/healthcare billing and collections work in a health system or medical practice.
  • Must have strong experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Practice Management (PM) systems.
  • Possess profound knowledge and understanding of rules and regulations affecting medical billing and insurance verification.

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily operations of the billing team consisting to include supervisors and specialists
  • Oversee entire RCM staff and structure
  • Manage all aspects of employee performance including development and performance oversight, identifying performance issues and coaching employees toward improvement including disciplinary action
  • Manage all RRS related to the Revenue Cycle Management process to ensure timely and accurate submission of claims, denials worked consistently, and age of accounts receivable is within acceptable limits
  • Minimize revenue adjustments by monitoring performance metrics and daily work queues
  • Assist in solving complex billing problems and help team members improve processes, problems and issues resolution
  • Ensure compliance with Medicare billing guidelines and all other insurances
  • Perform monitoring function and provide trend reports with assessment of the trends to management
  • Monitor changes in governmental reimbursement policies and provide leadership in strategic planning to accommodate changes in reimbursement regulations
  • Manage the EDI function as it relates to electronic claims submission. Maximize utilization or EDI capabilities, to enhance cash flow.
  • Interact with clients and build relationships with them while ensuring their needs are being met
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of client service protocols
  • Review the submission of claims, denials, payments and AR to ensure all is being handled on a weekly basis.
  • Resolve complex client problems or disputes in a professional manner
