About The Position

The Director of Behavioral Health provides visionary, mission-driven leadership for Catholic Charities Diocese of Venice across all ten counties, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compassionate, and ethically grounded behavioral health services. Rooted in Catholic Social Teaching and the dignity of every human person, this role blends clinical leadership, direct client care, program development, fundraising, stakeholder development, regulatory oversight, and staff supervision to support individuals and families in achieving healing, stability, and hope. The Director plays an active role in providing individual and group therapy while also overseeing all behavioral health programming, managing licensure and accreditation requirements, and guiding staff and contractors through continuous quality improvement and best clinical practices. Therapeutic services address a broad range of mental and behavioral health concerns, including but not limited to: Trauma and grief, Depression and anxiety, ADHD and behavioral challenges, Family and relational conflict, Bullying and life stressors, Substance use and recovery support, Suicidal Ideation, Marriage and Couples therapy. Care is delivered through a holistic framework, evaluating emotional, physical, spiritual, social, medical, recreational, and educational needs. When appropriate, clients are referred to community partners for additional services.

Requirements

  • Master of Social Work Degree or related field required.
  • Active Florida clinical license in good standing (LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated clinical experience with children, adolescents, adults, and families.
  • Proven experience recruiting, supervising, and managing licensed clinicians and contracted providers.
  • Strong background in program development, compliance, and quality assurance.
  • Strong supervisory, organizational, and strategic planning skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records, data systems, and reporting tools.
  • Ability to lead change, inspire teams, and build sustainable, high-quality services.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with DCF certification, substance abuse treatment programs, and accreditation processes preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group therapy as part of a balanced clinical and leadership role
  • Model excellence in trauma-informed, evidence-based, and culturally responsive care
  • Ensure services align with ethical, legal, and professional standards
  • Develop, implement, and oversee all behavioral health programs throughout the ten counties in the Diocese including developing appropriate policies and procedures in reference to DCF & accreditation compliance
  • Ensure the service delivery model is fully executed with the highest clinical best practices and operational standards
  • Lead program growth aligned with community needs and Catholic Charities’ mission
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain qualified behavioral health staff and contracted providers
  • Provide supervision, coaching, and mentorship to employees and contractors
  • Guide staff through continuous quality improvement, performance expectations, and best practices
  • Foster a collaborative, supportive, and mission-centered clinical culture
  • Oversee and maintain DCF certification for substance abuse treatment services
  • Lead efforts to achieve, maintain, and manage program accreditation
  • Ensure all legal, ethical, regulatory, and contractual requirements are met
  • Monitor documentation, billing, and recordkeeping in accordance with Catholic Charities policies and funder requirements
  • Maintain best practices in clinical care through supervision, training, and policy development
  • Oversee clinical documentation, data integrity, and use of electronic health record systems
  • Review outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
