About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Director of Operations to oversee our airport ground handling operations. This role is critical in ensuring the highest standards of service delivery, operational excellence, and compliance with safety regulations in ground handling services within cabin cleaning, baggage handling, janitorial, cargo security, international security, passenger services, and passenger services. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in airport operations, strong leadership abilities, and a passion for enhancing customer experience. The Director of Aviation MIA will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day ground operations at the airport, supporting Sr.Managers, analyzing performance metrics, and managing budgets with the overall execution of contract deliverables, client satisfaction, and financial performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Aviation Management, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in airport operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within ground handling services.
  • In-depth knowledge of airport regulations, ground handling processes, and safety protocols.
  • Proven track record of managing large teams and complex operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee day-to-day ground handling operations, including passenger services, cabin services, baggage handling, ramp services, and cargo security operations.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of operational managers and staff.
  • Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish KPIs and performance metrics to monitor operational effectiveness and drive improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for optimization within staffing levels and managerial development
  • Ensure profitable margins within each service minimizing OT and maximizing services procedures
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all operations adhere to safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and training to maintain compliance and enhance safety protocols.
  • Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with airline partners/clients, airport authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Address customer concerns and feedback to continuously improve service delivery.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high service standards.
  • Innovation and Strategy: Drive innovation in ground handling processes and technologies to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align operations with the company's strategic goals.
