About The Position

This role is for Director of Atlanta Student Life at Christ Covenant. Atlanta Student Life is an outward focused ministry of Christ Covenant Student Ministry that takes place in the Atlanta Public School System reaching 6-12th grade students. Below are expectations that this position will be responsible for and accountable for during each of the performance review cycles. Essential Job Functions Organizational Leadership & Program Development Assume leadership and oversight of the ministry’s existing mission, function, schedules, programming, and ministry base of schools, students, parents, and volunteers Oversee and manage volunteer relationships including recruitment, training, and retention Oversee and Manage existing and future school leadership relationships including communication and appreciation Expansion and Growth Culture - Establish ATL Student Life’s identity, community, and relational equity during its formative years in a way that promotes and fosters the organization’s longevity, impact, and potency in the Atlanta Public School System Vision - Develop and execute the ministry’s vision for scope, scale, and impact on the Atlanta Public School System Relationships - Build upon and utilize existing relationships through Christ Covenant to expand ATL Student Life. Relationships consist of parents, partner churches, teachers and faculty in the school system who desire to belong to a people, a purpose, and a hope Curriculum and Teaching Identify or produce curriculum appropriate for middle and high school students that can be taught in small groups throughout the school year Train and guide volunteer leaders on best teaching practices of chosen curriculum Localized Ministry Work alongside and collaborate with Covenant Students staff for ATL Student Life and Christ Covenant Student functions Attend Covenant Students gathering on Sunday nights and receive support from Covenant Student Staff on Friday mornings at ATL Student Life sites. Education & Experience Bachelor’s (B.A.) in related field degree preferred A minimum of 3 years experience in student ministry Ministry experience within public schools or public field, highly preferred Character congruent with the biblical requirements for leaders (1 Tim. 3:1-13; 2 Tim. 2; Titus 1:5-9) Culture, Core Values, & Behaviors All employees and staff members at Christ Covenant shall work under the following values. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s (B.A.) in related field degree preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in student ministry
  • Ministry experience within public schools or public field, highly preferred
  • Character congruent with the biblical requirements for leaders (1 Tim. 3:1-13; 2 Tim. 2; Titus 1:5-9)

  • Work alongside and collaborate with Covenant Students staff for ATL Student Life and Christ Covenant Student functions
  • Attend Covenant Students gathering on Sunday nights and receive support from Covenant Student Staff on Friday mornings at ATL Student Life sites.
