About The Position

OneFourTwo Design Group (142) is a design-forward architecture firm operating as a strategic partner within a design-build platform. We focus on delivering thoughtful design, strong client relationships, and real project execution for sophisticated developers, builders, and end users who value clarity, accountability, and results. As we continue expanding our Philadelphia presence, we are looking for a senior leader to help shape the market, strengthen client relationships, and grow our regional impact. We are seeking an experienced architectural leader who is equally comfortable developing client relationships, leading teams, and guiding design direction. This is a seller-doer leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and enjoys being highly engaged with clients, projects, and team development. This person will work closely with the firm's leadership team and our design-build partners to pursue opportunities, deliver exceptional projects, and build a strong, collaborative team in the Philadelphia market.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters in Architecture & 10-15+ years of relevant architectural experience
  • Proven success developing client relationships and winning work
  • Strong presence in meetings, presentations, and client interactions
  • Demonstrated leadership experience building or mentoring teams
  • Strong design sensibility with practical delivery understanding
  • Strategic thinker with entrepreneurial mindset
  • Collaborative, relationship-driven, no-ego leadership style
  • Alignment with both 142’s design-driven approach and design-build execution environment

  • Established industry credibility and professional network preferred
  • Licensed Architect preferred

Responsibilities

  • Business Development & Market Leadership - Develop and maintain strong relationships with developers, builders, and end users
  • Serve as a client-facing leader in proposals, presentations, interviews, and strategic discussions
  • Leverage industry relationships and reputation to generate new opportunities
  • Help define and communicate 142’s value proposition within a design-build environment
  • Represent the firm at industry events, networking opportunities, and client engagements
  • Project Leadership & Delivery - Serve as Principal-in-Charge and/or Project Executive on key projects
  • Guide projects from early concept through execution, balancing design quality, schedule, and cost
  • Deliver an exceptional client experience through clear communication and proactive leadership
  • Collaborate seamlessly with design-build partners, consultants, and internal teams
  • Team Building & Leadership - Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing architectural team
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, client-focused culture
  • Support recruiting, professional development, and long-term team growth
  • Help establish scalable processes and best practices as the office grows
  • Strategic Vision & Design Leadership - Provide design direction and maintain high design standards
  • Contribute strategic insight to market positioning and practice growth
  • Encourage innovation, collaboration, and forward-thinking design solutions
  • Help shape how design excellence integrates with speed and execution
