About The Position

The Director of Administration is a key member of the department's administrative leadership team, partnering with the Director of Finance, Director of Operations, and Chief of Staff. The position has primary responsibility for the department's "people functions"--- Academic Affairs, Human Resources, Training and Development, Compliance, and Workflow Design and Process Improvement for administrative functions. The position fosters collaboration across administrative teams, drives continuous improvement using data and LEAN methodologies, optimizes workflows, and ensures compliance with university policies. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $143,900 - $215,800 (Annual Rate). Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and minimum six years of experience, including five in a supervisory/lead role or equivalent experience / training.
  • Broad knowledge of the organization's processes, protocols and procedures with a focus on budget, account and fund management and / or personnel management under labor contract(s) and personnel policy.
  • Broad knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques; human resources and risk management planning; and / or accounting and payroll.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to influence / persuade all levels of personnel.
  • Skills in organization and customer service to effectively manage multiple important priorities. Proven ability to organize department work functions in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Broad knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.
  • Skills to work collaboratively with other locations.
  • Proven skills to quickly evaluate complex issues and identify multiple options for resolution.
  • Demonstrated management and conflict resolution skills to effectively lead and motivate others.
  • Demonstrated track record in process improvement methodologies, with LEAN certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record in Project Management.
