About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as the Director of Digital New Business Development & Operations. This role is responsible for identifying, incubating, and scaling new digital retail initiatives that unlock future growth opportunities. The ideal candidate will blend entrepreneurial thinking with operational excellence, guiding early-stage concepts from idea through validation, launch, and sustained growth. This is a high-impact, cross-functional leadership role that requires strong business acumen, digital expertise, and a bias for action.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in digital retail, eCommerce, new business incubation, or corporate innovation.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Proven success in taking new digital ventures from concept to launch and scale, ideally in a retail or consumer-facing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of retail ecommerce and marketplace models.
  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills with experience building business models and managing budgets.
  • Strong operational and team leadership abilities; experience managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication, influence, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward experimentation and action.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.

Responsibilities

  • Work with digital strategy team to identify white space opportunities in digital retail.
  • Develop business cases, go-to-market strategies, and financial models to evaluate opportunity size and viability.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., merchandising, stores, product, marketing, finance, tech, legal) and external partners to accelerate development.
  • Build and lead day-to-day operations for newly launched digital ventures, ensuring strong execution and performance.
  • Set KPIs and drive continuous optimization with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Manage P&L for businesses and oversee budget planning, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Scale operational infrastructure and team resources as businesses grow, transitioning from incubation to mature operations.
  • Present to executive leadership regularly, providing progress updates, roadmaps, and strategic recommendations.
  • Create scalable frameworks and playbooks for launching and managing future digital business initiatives.
