About The Position

Ziply Fiber is a local internet service provider dedicated to elevating the connected lives of the communities it serves, offering the fastest home internet, a refreshingly great customer experience, and affordable plans. As the state-of-the-art fiber network expands, so does the need for team members who can help grow and realize its goals. The Director of Network Expansion is responsible for planning and executing the company’s network growth strategy. This role leads market expansion initiatives, oversees network build programs, and ensures timely, cost-effective delivery of infrastructure to support revenue growth and customer demand. This role will initially operate as an individual contributor, with responsibility expected to expand over time to include leadership of a team as network expansion efforts scale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
  • Minimum of eight (8) to twelve (12) years of experience in telecommunications network planning, deployment, or expansion.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience delivering large-scale network growth or infrastructure programs.
  • Proven experience in leading teams, assisting managers and executives, and enhancing an organization's performance as a whole.
  • Experience scaling or developing teams in dynamic or growth-oriented environments.
  • Strong understanding of service provider network infrastructure, including fiber, access, transport, and IP.
  • Experience with capital planning, vendor management, and cross-functional execution.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the network expansion roadmap aligned with business objectives, market demand, and revenue targets.
  • Lead market entry, density expansion, and network infrastructure build programs across fiber, transport, access, and IP networks.
  • Translate strategic objectives into executable expansion plans with clear milestones and deliverables.
  • Build and scale a high-performing network expansion team as organizational needs grow, including defining roles, hiring, and developing future direct reports.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Construction, Operations, Sales, and Finance to deliver expansion initiatives end to end.
  • Coordinate dependencies and handoffs across teams to ensure seamless execution from planning through activation.
  • Provide clear leadership and decision-making across complex, multi-workstream programs.
  • Own expansion business cases, capital planning, and investment prioritization to ensure efficient use of capital.
  • Manage vendors, contractors, and strategic partners supporting network builds.
  • Track budgets, forecast capital spend, and ensure cost-effective delivery of expansion initiatives.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators, delivery milestones, schedules, and financial metrics.
  • Identify risks, constraints, and dependencies across expansion programs and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure all expansion activities meet service quality, operational readiness, and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs other duties as required to support the business and evolving organization.
