As the Director of Manufacturing Test, you will lead the Manufacturing Test team, overseeing the test strategy and execution required to ensure high quality product releases at scale from our contract manufacturers. We are looking for a candidate in this leadership role that brings deep technical expertise, excellence in test design and planning, ability to drive teams in multiple regions, and partner with cross-functional leaders to continually improve quality.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, test engineering, or automation (assembly, inspection, test station design, or factory deployment)
  • Experience working with wearables and/or consumer electronics at a large scale
  • Experience leading and developing test teams across multiple sites
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
  • Experience leading development builds and mass production with global manufacturing partners
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% across domestic and international factory sites

Responsibilities

  • Influence the Global MFG Test strategy with an assessment including writing the forward-looking engagement model with CMs and internal partners
  • Managing and developing a team of engineers based in both the US and Asia to execute key projects on the Oura product roadmap
  • Hardware test system Development and Implementation, including designing and developing both automated and manual test systems, developing test strategies, developing test plans, procedures, and documentations; and selection and implementation of test equipment
  • Production Support and Improvement, including troubleshooting, process improvement, NPI support, First pass yield targets, and training
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance, including Ensuring traceability of test results, implementation of preventative measures for quality control, design for testability feedback
  • Collaboration and Communication, including cross-functional collaboration, communication, and project management updates on key build progress and technical challenges
  • Management and direction of internal and external test capability to troubleshoot current yield issues as well as inform current and future builds
  • Own the test capability of the reverse logistics strategy to set-up and support returns testing across future products.
