Role Summary The Engineering Manager – MOCVD Epitaxy leads the MOCVD Epi engineering function, owning tool performance, process capability, cost of ownership, and safety. This role ensures robust, scalable epitaxial manufacturing through strong technical leadership, disciplined execution, and continuous improvement while developing a high‑performing engineering team.

Requirements

  • BS or higher in Engineering (Materials, Chemical, Electrical, Physics, or related).
  • 8+ years of epitaxy experience; 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of epi processes, equipment, safety, and manufacturing systems.
  • Proven experience leading tool installs, process ramps, and yield improvement programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise with III‑V epitaxy and MOCVD reactor platforms.
  • Experience owning area‑level cost, capacity, and productivity metrics.
  • Familiarity with advanced data analytics, APC, or model‑based process control.
  • Demonstrated success driving safety, reliability, and cost improvements simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Own technical performance and roadmap for MOCVD Epi equipment.
  • Define and approve tool specifications to meet process capability, throughput, automation, facilities, and EHS requirements.
  • Lead supplier engagement, tool evaluations, FAT/SAT, and production readiness reviews.
  • Drive successful tool installs, transfers, and capacity expansions.
  • Establish preventive/predictive maintenance strategies, spares planning, and uptime targets.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for tool and process reliability issues.
  • Ensure robust documentation, change control, and tool health monitoring.
  • Own MOCVD Epi process stability, capability, and yield performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement using SPC, DOE, and data‑driven methods.
  • Support new technology introductions and process transfers in collaboration.
  • Own and reduce CoO, including consumables, uptime, throughput, and service costs.
  • Develop business cases and ROI for capital investments and improvement initiatives.
  • Balance cost reductions with performance, reliability, and safety requirements.
  • Ensure safe operation of MOCVD Epi systems, including hazardous gases, chemicals, and high‑temperature processes.
  • Lead hazard assessments, safe operating procedures, and incident investigations.
  • Promote a strong safety culture with zero‑tolerance for non-compliance.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the MOCVD Epi engineering team.
  • Set clear goals and hold teams accountable to performance, safety, and improvement objectives.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Facilities, Supply Chain, and EHS.
