About The Position

The Director of Manufacturing Engineering Operations leads all aspects of manufacturing engineering to ensure efficient, scalable, and high-quality production operations. This senior leadership role drives strategic manufacturing engineering initiatives, oversees process improvements, equipment deployment, capacity planning, and cross-functional collaboration to meet business objectives in an EMS environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience, including leadership in EMS or complex manufacturing.
  • Proven track record leading large teams and managing multi-site operations.
  • Strong expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, operational excellence, and capital equipment management.
  • Excellent strategic planning, project management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate cross-functionally at all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the manufacturing engineering department to develop and execute manufacturing strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Oversee process design, equipment engineering, NPI, and continuous improvement programs across manufacturing sites.
  • Manage capital equipment investments, capacity planning, and technology deployment.
  • Drive Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and operational excellence initiatives at scale.
  • Collaborate closely with Quality, Supply Chain, R&D, and Operations leadership.
  • Build and develop a high-performing engineering team, mentoring managers and senior engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Manage departmental budget, resources, and vendor relationships.
  • Report key performance metrics and provide strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
