About The Position

At STACK, the Director of IT Operations is responsible for the overall operational health, governance, and lifecycle management of Operational Technology services. This role ensures IT services are delivered reliably, securely, and cost-effectively across STACK’s global footprint, while maintaining strong operational controls, vendor performance, and audit readiness. The Director, IT Operations provides strategic oversight and accountability for IT operations and delivery of IT services during construction and transition. The role operates with minimal direction and broad latitude for independent judgment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of experience in IT or infrastructure operations
  • 5+ years in senior operational leadership roles
  • Strong ITIL, service management, and change management background
  • Proven experience managing MSPs, vendors, and outsourced services
  • Experience with budgeting, asset lifecycle management, and audits
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must pass comprehensive background screening and drug screening

  • Data center operations experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end IT operational service delivery, ensuring availability, stability, and performance of operational technology services.
  • Establish and maintain IT operations policies, procedures, and governance frameworks aligned with ITIL best practices.
  • Provide executive oversight of incident, problem, and change management, ensuring consistent execution and continuous improvement.
  • Lead service provider and vendor management, including contracts, SLAs, KPIs, and service reviews.
  • Oversee IT and OT asset inventory and lifecycle management, ensuring accurate tracking, refresh planning, and decommissioning.
  • Ensure audit readiness, compliance, and operational risk management, including remediation planning and documentation.
  • Own the IT Operations budget, forecasting costs and managing spend against approved targets.
  • Define and monitor operational performance metrics, delivering regular reporting to executive leadership.
  • Partner with Systems Engineering, Network Engineering, Telecom, Construction, Critical Operations, and Finance teams to ensure smooth transitions from design/build to steady-state operations.
  • On-call availability may be required to respond to emergency situations
