About The Position

As a Penske Director of IT Engineering - MS, Storage & Azure Cloud, you will be responsible for the reliability, performance, recoverability and security of corporate IT hardware, Cloud environments, and related software. You will lead teams that play a key role in the support, troubleshooting, implementation, configuration, maintenance, performance monitoring and the development of specialized procedures relating to the use of On-premises and Cloud environments. You will also be researching and implementing the latest trends in related technology fields while making sure to strictly adhere to Penske's standards and policies. You will be leading and mentoring several teams to complete a variety of projects and to act efficiently in the case of a company technical outage.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the reliability, performance, recoverability, and security of corporate IT hardware, Cloud environments and related software.
  • Support, troubleshooting, implementation, configuration, maintenance, performance monitoring and the development of specialized procedures relating to the use of the MS, Storage and Cloud computing environment.
  • Leads the MS, Storage and Cloud Engineering staff.
  • Mentor and direct their staff in design and deployment of complex tools/technology and will work closely with technical staff on best practice development and implementation.
  • Ensure that ITDS engineering projects and priorities are in alignment with the overall IT and business objectives.
  • Lead the technical team during system outage or disaster recovery events.
  • Responsible for the strict adherence to company policy and will ensure that all implementations meet department compliance policies, internal control procedures and industry best practices (ie: SoX/PCI/CCPA/GDPR/SSAE16).
  • Responsible for researching and evaluating newer/emerging technologies and advises IT management on their usefulness at Penske.
  • Provide alignment of department resources to business initiatives and priorities.
  • Manage key vendor relationships and vendor performance.
  • Responsible for a portion of the IT capital and expense budget and input into the IT Delivery Services business planning process.
  • Manage, monitor and drive improvement in platform, processes and technology to run 7x24x365 mission critical systems.
  • Responsible for technical disaster recovery capability for On-premises and Cloud environments
  • Lead the technical team during major system failure events and triage calls.
  • Work with management to define standards, policies and procedures to facilitate the management, accountability, functionality and security of networked based systems.
  • Ensure SOX and PCI compliance for IT computing processes and systems
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned.
