About The Position

Position Description: Accelerates development and drives down costs through modern computing paradigms, Cloud computing, and open-source software, using observability SaaS providers (Datadog, Splunk, Cloud Providers and AWS/Azure). Understands IT services, IT Service Management in an Enterprise context, and Cloud delivery models including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS), and Platform as a Service (PaaS). Incorporates and streamlines test automation into software application builds using Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and six (6) years of experience as a Director, Cloud Engineering (or closely related occupation) planning, designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining highly scalable and secure observability platforms within a highly complex and highly regulated environment.
  • Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and four (4) years of experience as a Director, Cloud Engineering (or closely related occupation) planning, designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining highly scalable and secure observability platforms within a highly complex and highly regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and building opensource observability platforms for large data scale in a multi-hybrid Cloud environment, using opensource frameworks and standards (OpenTelemetry, Node Blackbox Exporter, Prometheus, and Grafana); monitoring system health and performance using observability products (Datadog, Splunk, Kibana, and Cloudwatch).
  • DE designing and building highly scalable, high performing telemetry data processing pipelines using Kafka, Pub/Sub, and Kubernetes; enabling solutions to provide observability for various stacks in a distributed system, including network, load balancers, application servers, and databases, using instrumentation and profiling methodologies; evaluating application performance by simulating production load patterns in lower environments; and performing benchmarking, tuning, and capacity planning.
  • DE designing, developing, and testing both frontend and backend software applications using Python, React JS, No-SQL, REST APIs, and HTML; managing infra as code; performing code version control using Git; building CI/CD solutions using Jenkins; and building automation tools using Python and Shell scripts.
  • DE defining technology and product roadmaps; creating and prioritizing product backlogs, using Jira and Jira Align; participating in continuous planning using the Agile methodology; creating and maintaining roadmaps; and determining direction based on customer usage tracking.

  • Creates and drives Observability Integrations roadmaps that blend scalable automation and security within multi hybrid Cloud environments.
  • Builds, configures, and sustains internal and external Cloud platforms with development ecosystems.
  • Performs configuration management, incident management, problem management, asset management, and logging and auditing.
  • Collaborates with other product and engineering leads, and senior management on product and delivery requirements, roadmaps, and vision.
  • Investigates, proves out, and incorporates new technologies and capabilities to drive the technology vision for secure Cloud platforms.
