About The Position

As the Director of International Benefits at Justworks International, you will build and own the strategy, design, and execution of employee benefits programs across all international markets for our Employer of Record (EOR) business. Benefits are a key differentiator, a growth engine, and a critical lever to win and retain EOR customers—with the potential to become a multi-million dollar revenue opportunity. You will define and implement a multi-country benefits strategy that delivers competitive, compliant offerings around the world, manages vendor and partner relationships end to end, and seamlessly integrates benefits into our global operations and in-app experience. You will build, lead, and motivate a distributed team of regional benefits experts—ensuring every country’s offering aligns with our global strategy. You’ll work cross-functionally with Product, Operations, Customer Success, and Sales to define and scale a portfolio of benefits that deliver both locally competitive and globally differentiated experiences for our customers and their employees. This includes balancing a top-down, scaled global approach—driving partnerships with global brokers and providers—with a bottoms-up lens to identify and launch the most relevant benefits in each market. You are both a strategist and an operator, equally comfortable shaping a long-term roadmap and navigating daily operational challenges. You thrive in complex, fast-moving environments and take pride in building scalable frameworks that balance compliance with creativity. You’ll lead a high-performing global team while partnering closely with our US Risk & Insurance team to unlock scaled global relationships. You bring entrepreneurial-ness, curiosity, creativity, and commercial acumen to your work. You enjoy building things from the ground up, negotiating with partners and vendors, innovating, and translating customer insight into strategy. Most importantly, you are passionate about creating benefits offerings and experiences that make employees feel cared for and valued and customers confident in our global platform.

Requirements

  • 8-10+ years of experience managing, building and operating a substantial global business, product line or function with at least 3+ years of experience and deep knowledge within global benefits, global insurance, global employment or EOR across multiple geographies
  • Demonstrated ability to build from the ground up, operate with autonomy, and thrive in highly complex, global ambiguous environments.
  • Exceptional commercial and operational instincts; ability to design scalable systems, navigate partnerships, evaluate tradeoffs; strong vendor and partner management
  • Strong negotiation skills with partners; experience running global RFPs and renewals.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across diverse cultures and levels.
  • Analytical fluency with benefits cost modeling, vendor performance metrics, and ROI analysis.
  • Track record of leading distributed teams and scaling processes internationally.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth tech or HR services environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in multiple language and/or experience living in and doing business in multiple countries is a plus.
  • Experience leveraging AI and automation to benefit operations and processes

Responsibilities

  • Global Strategy & Design: Develop and execute a multi-region benefits strategy that aligns with Justworks’ international growth goals and values and ensures competitiveness and compliance.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, motivate and mentor a growing Global Benefits team, starting by hiring Benefits Specialists in key regions; define clear ownership, standards, and performance metrics.
  • Global Partnerships: Build and oversee global broker and carrier relationships, negotiating best-in-class coverage, pricing, and service levels.
  • Product Innovation: Identify, evaluate, and launch new benefits that differentiate our EOR offering—for example, wellness, family support, flexibility, and mental health programs tailored by region.
  • Renewal Oversight: Own the global renewal calendar; ensure consistent process, data integrity, and timely execution across all markets.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure statutory compliance in every country; maintain documentation, audits, and alignment with Legal and Compliance.
  • Insights & Analytics: Develop a unified view of benefits cost, utilization, and satisfaction; partner with Finance on budgeting and forecasting.
  • Stakeholder Partnerships: Collaborate cross-functionally with Payroll, Legal, HRIS, Sales, and Product teams to enhance employee and customer experiences.
  • Employee Experience: Drive clear, engaging communications around benefits launches and updates that empower employees globally.
  • Cross-functional Execution: work across International, US Risk & Insurance to deliver globally scaled and local broker relationships that seamlessly plug into our offering.
