About The Position

The LA Clippers are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Infrastructure to lead the design, delivery, and operation of enterprise and venue technology infrastructure across the organization. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of all core infrastructure systems supporting business operations, basketball operations, and live event environments. The Director of Infrastructure will play a critical leadership role in advancing network, cloud, server, and platform capabilities while maintaining operational excellence in a 24/7, high‑availability environment. This position partners closely with Technology leadership, internal stakeholders, and external vendors to align infrastructure strategy with organizational priorities and long‑term vision. Due to the nature of this industry, the candidate must be available to work a flexible schedule including weeknights, weekends, and holidays to cover high profile concerts and NBA games.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of progressive IT infrastructure experience, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role
  • Deep expertise in Cisco networking — routing, switching, wireless, and security (Cisco Catalyst, Meraki, ASA/Firepower, DNA Center)
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, hybrid architecture) and the Microsoft 365 platform
  • Proven experience managing large-scale, high-availability network environments with dense user populations
  • Strong understanding of network security principles, zero-trust architecture, and cloud security best practices
  • Experience developing and managing infrastructure budgets
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills

  • Experience with DRaaS (Disaster Recovery as a Service) and enterprise backup/recovery strategies

Responsibilities

  • Network Infrastructure Architect, manage, and continuously optimize a Cisco enterprise network environment, including switching, routing, wireless, and security infrastructure across the Intuit Dome and Kia Forum including business administration areas.
  • Lead the design and maintenance of high-density Cisco wireless networks capable of supporting tens of thousands of concurrent users during major events.
  • Manage Cisco SD-WAN, firewalls (Cisco ASA), and network segmentation policies to ensure security and performance.
  • Oversee network monitoring, capacity planning, and incident response using Cisco DNA Center, Cisco ThousandEyes, or equivalent tooling.
  • Own and evolve the organization's Microsoft Azure cloud strategy, including infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), platform services (PaaS), and hybrid cloud architecture.
  • Manage Microsoft 365 tenant administration, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, and Azure Active Directory / Entra ID.
  • Lead cloud governance, cost optimization, and security compliance within the Azure environment.
  • Oversee identity and access management (IAM) strategies using Azure AD / Microsoft Entra ID including MFA, conditional access, and SSO.
  • Serve as the primary relationship owner for all infrastructure vendors and managed service providers — including DAS (Distributed Antenna System) and Wi-Fi operators, ISPs, and other telecom vendors — holding partners accountable to SLAs, performance standards, and the venue's commitment to redundant, high-availability connectivity.
  • Serve as the primary point of escalation for vendor performance issues, contract renewals, and service disputes.
  • Work closely with DAS operators on carrier coordination, signal coverage optimization, and capacity planning to ensure reliable in-venue cellular performance across all areas during events and daily operations.
  • Align with Wi-Fi managed service partners to ensure service delivery meets venue network standards, security policies, and the fan and staff experience expectations.
  • Drive vendor roadmap reviews, hardware refresh planning, and technology upgrade cycles to ensure all third-party solutions remain aligned with the venue's long-term infrastructure strategy.
  • Implement and manage comprehensive network and platform monitoring solutions to ensure real-time visibility into infrastructure health, performance, and availability across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Define alerting thresholds, dashboards, and escalation workflows for proactive incident detection and resolution.
  • Own and maintain enterprise backup and data protection strategies, including tools, schedules, retention policies, and regular recovery testing for all critical systems.
  • Ensure monitoring and backup coverage spans the full environment — network infrastructure, Azure cloud workloads, Microsoft 365 services, and on-premises systems.
  • Work closely with the DevOps team to align infrastructure provisioning, cloud resource management, and platform architecture with application and pipeline needs.
  • Monitor and right-size Azure cloud resources in partnership with DevOps to optimize performance and control costs, including compute, storage, and networking spend.
  • Serve as the infrastructure subject matter expert in cross-functional planning sessions and architecture discussions.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing infrastructure team including network engineers and cloud engineers.
  • Define and enforce infrastructure policies, standards, and best practices across the organization.
  • Develop and manage the infrastructure capital and operating budget, including hardware refresh cycles and cloud spend.
  • Develop and maintain robust disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BCP) plans.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant security frameworks (NIST, SOC 2, PCI-DSS where applicable).
  • Serve as the infrastructure lead for all major events, ensuring network, cloud, and systems readiness for game days, concerts, and special events.
  • Coordinate with broadcast partners, production companies, and league technology teams to support event-day technical requirements.
  • Develop runbooks and on-call escalation procedures for event-day incident response.
