About The Position

The Director of Infrastructure & Operations is responsible for leading the enterprise technology foundation that enables reliable, secure, and scalable business operations across Hussmann’s global footprint. This role oversees global IT service delivery, infrastructure engineering, cloud and on prem platforms, network architecture, and operational excellence across hybrid environments. This leader will play a critical role in driving Hussmann’s multi year infrastructure modernization initiative, transforming a diverse ecosystem of aging legacy technologies, mid life platforms, and modern cloud solutions into a cohesive, resilient, future ready foundation. The Sr. Director must be adept at navigating environments with varying technology maturity, balancing the realities of technical debt with the need for innovation, automation, and modern engineering practices. The Director leads a geographically distributed team across the U.S., Mexico, and India and manages multiple strategic vendor partners. The role ensures high availability, performance, security, and continual service improvement of IT services while maintaining strong financial discipline across operational and capital investments. Acting as a trusted partner to the business, this leader aligns infrastructure capabilities with enterprise strategy and positions Hussmann to meet evolving business, cybersecurity, and digital innovation needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related area (Master’s preferred).
  • 15+ years progressive IT infrastructure/operations experience with 5+ years leading large enterprise functions.
  • Strong experience in hybrid infrastructure, cloud (Azure preferred), network architecture, ITSM, and endpoint management.
  • Proven success leading globally distributed teams and third‑party partners.
  • Demonstrated experience managing Infrastructure & Operations during Merger & Acquisition events including full understanding of a Due Diligence process.
  • Demonstrated ownership of large budgets, multi‑year roadmaps, and high‑availability operational environments.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, field service, engineering, or industrial environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure & Platform Engineering
  • Lead the design, delivery, and optimization of enterprise infrastructure including on‑premise, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  • Oversee compute, storage, network, virtualization, collaboration platforms, databases, disaster recovery, and data center operations.
  • Drive modernization efforts (cloud adoption, network transformation, automation, observability, platform resilience).
  • Define architecture standards and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, AI governance, and cybersecurity strategies.
  • Operations & Service Delivery
  • Own and enhance global IT Service Management (ITSM) including Incident, Problem, Change, Release, Service Request, Knowledge, and Asset Management.
  • Lead 24×7 operational support ensuring high availability, reliability, and rapid incident response.
  • Drive continual service improvement, automation, KPI/SLA performance, and user satisfaction.
  • Endpoint & Workforce Technology
  • Oversee end‑user computing including Windows, macOS, mobile, imaging, deployment, patching, and endpoint security tool deployment & compliance.
  • Drive standardization, lifecycle management, and productivity enablement aligned to hybrid work models.
  • Ensure secure and seamless access to corporate systems leveraging M365, Azure AD/Entra, Intune, and Zero Trust patterns.
  • Security, Resilience & Compliance
  • Partner with Cybersecurity leadership to integrate protection, detection, identity, vulnerability management, and compliance controls into operational practices.
  • Ensure robust business continuity, disaster recovery orchestration, backup strategy, and resilience engineering.
  • Lead proactive health and performance monitoring, capacity planning, and risk management across platforms.
  • Identity, Access & Asset Management
  • Ensure strong governance for identity lifecycle, role-based access control, privileged access, and audit controls.
  • Lead enterprise hardware, software, and license management, ensuring accurate CMDB and optimized spend.
  • Vendor, Partner & Financial Management
  • Manage strategic vendors including cloud providers, managed services partners, hardware/software providers, and operational service partners.
  • Oversee performance, contract governance, renewals, escalations, and cost optimization.
  • Own multi‑million‑dollar Opex/Capex planning, forecasting, and multi‑year infrastructure investment roadmaps.
  • Ensure vendor ecosystems support Hussmann’s reliability, modernization, and security standards.
  • People Leadership & Culture
  • Lead a high‑performing global team across the U.S., Monterrey, Mexico City, and Bangalore.
  • Build a culture of accountability, inclusiveness, service excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop talent, succession plans, role clarity, and engineering/operations career paths.
  • Advance mindset shifts aligned to DevOps, automation, AI ops, cloud operations, and modern service delivery models.
