About The Position

The Director of Information Technology provides strategic direction and hands-on leadership for all IT operations, systems, and cybersecurity functions across the organization. This role is responsible for shaping and executing a technology strategy that supports organizational performance, compliance, and scalability. The Director oversees enterprise-wide initiatives that require coordination across multiple departments, ensuring technology investments strengthen operational efficiency and align with business priorities. The position also serves as a key partner to executive leadership in advancing digital transformation and maintaining a secure, resilient technology environment that meets Department of Defense (DoD) and U.S. Government (USG) standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Information Technology, including 5 years leading full-lifecycle IT or software projects for the Department of Defense (DoD) or U.S. Government.
  • Minimum of 3 years managing or supervising personnel in technology functions.
  • Proven experience leading large, complex, multi-department enterprise software implementations from inception through launch, not limited to optimization or upgrades.
  • Demonstrated success in IT project delivery within complex stakeholder environments.
  • Strong background in vendor management, business process analysis, and systems design.
  • Demonstrated ability to map and integrate cross-functional workflows that improve scalability and efficiency.
  • Proficiency with enterprise technologies, IT infrastructure, and cloud services.
  • Working knowledge of NIST, CMMC, FedRAMP, or similar federal cybersecurity frameworks, with understanding of safeguarding requirements at the Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) level.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite, including SharePoint and Azure

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within a defense, aerospace, or advanced technology organization operating in a regulated, compliance-driven environment.
  • Background in professional services or consulting for the DoD or U.S. Government.
  • Familiarity with CRM/ERP platforms such as Salesforce or NetSuite, and experience with low-code/no-code platforms and data integration tools.
  • Understanding of Other Transaction Authorities (OTAs) and non-traditional acquisition processes.
  • PMP, ITIL, or CISSP certification.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an enterprise-wide technology strategy that supports business objectives, operational efficiency, and long-term scalability.
  • Provide leadership and direction across all IT functions, ensuring systems, infrastructure, and security practices enable organizational performance.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team that delivers consistent, secure, and reliable technology services.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership, ensuring technology investments and initiatives align with company goals.
  • Lead large, complex enterprise system implementations requiring coordination across multiple departments and business functions.
  • Direct the design, development, and deployment of new enterprise systems from inception, including mapping workflows, defining requirements, and managing vendor integration.
  • Ensure programs are delivered on time, within scope, and with measurable adoption and operational outcomes.
  • Oversee governance and change management processes that ensure system sustainability, performance, and user engagement.
  • Partner with business and operational leaders to align systems with strategic goals and compliance standards.
  • Manage cloud and on-premise environments to ensure reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Oversee network administration, systems performance, and data management across all business units.
  • Evaluate and manage vendor and service provider relationships to maintain high performance and cost efficiency.
  • Implement best practices for operational continuity, disaster recovery, and technology modernization.
  • Lead technology-driven initiatives that improve workflows, enhance data visibility, and strengthen collaboration across departments.
  • Design and document cross-functional processes that integrate business systems and support scalable growth.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts through data-driven analysis and stakeholder feedback.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and service excellence throughout all IT functions.
  • Oversee cybersecurity policies, audits, and incident response to maintain compliance with federal and industry standards.
  • Manage frameworks such as NIST, CMMC, and FedRAMP, ensuring readiness and adherence to all required protocols.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with compliance consultants, auditors, and government IT representatives.
  • Lead risk identification initiatives and champion proactive mitigation strategies to safeguard company assets.
