About The Position

IQ Fiber is seeking a Director of IT responsible for the overall planning, implementation, and management of the company’s information technology systems and services. This role ensures reliable, secure, and scalable IT operations that supports the organization. The Director of IT oversees employee equipment, software and related vendor management, help desk operations, and the integration of business systems to improve efficiency, data flow, and security. This is a hands-on leadership role, balancing strategic planning with day-to-day operational execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Comfort operating as both a strategic leader and a hands-on executor
  • 7+ years of progressive IT experience, including leadership or management roles
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.)
  • Experience scaling IT operations in a growing organization
  • Experience working in a cloud native environment as well as securing access to critical hardware

Nice To Haves

  • IT certifications (e.g., ITIL, CISSP, Microsoft) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily IT operations, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of systems and networks
  • Manage third-party help desk provider to ensure timely, effective support to all employees
  • Develop and execute an IT roadmap that achieves the company’s IT objectives and supports business operations
  • Establish and maintain IT policies, procedures, and documentation
  • Establish IT governance frameworks that empower business units to manage their own SaaS applications while ensuring security, compliance, and architectural coherence
  • Develop and maintain data classification and data retention policies
  • Own the company's cybersecurity posture, including policy development, risk assessment, and incident response planning
  • Partner with HR to streamline onboarding and off-boarding workflows that ensure compliance and support timeline provisioning and de-provisioning of hardware, software, system access, and permissions
  • Evaluate, select, and negotiate contracts with software vendors, service providers, and hardware suppliers
  • Track contract renewals, usage, and costs to optimize licensing and control spend
  • Develop and manage the IT budget and forecast future technology needs
  • Provide guidance and hands-on support for complex or high-impact issues when needed
  • Partner with and support business stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation and improved data flow while ensuring security and documentation of all critical functions
  • Consolidate tools where strategic, reduce technical debt, improve integration between systems, and develop playbooks to support future M&A activity
