About The Position

This position requires specialized skills and knowledge to handle the challenges and complexities of the offices and project quality activities. With authoritative decision-making this role’s recommendations have a significant impact on regional and offices quality policies and programs. This role directs the work of assigned quality personnel.

Requirements

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and eighteen (18) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twenty-two (22) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Past background in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Quality processes in the nuclear industry.
  • Technical experience of quality inspection, testing, or oversight on government or commercial nuclear facilities within one or more of the following disciplines: mechanical, welding, piping, electrical, instrumentation & controls, or structural.
  • The candidate will have knowledge gained from direct or associated work through auditing, or surveillance of activities supporting internal and external supply chain oversight activities.
  • Previous responsibilities and experience with Corrective Action and Performance Improvement Program implementation including qualification/training as a Root Cause and Apparent Cause evaluator.
  • Previous responsibilities and experience in technical document review including Purchase Orders (Pos), Contracts, Procurement Specifications, etc.
  • Previous experience in the development of program controls including procedure development and procedure review and approval.
  • Twelve (12) years of related Quality/project experience
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills

  • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills
  • General knowledge and familiarity with Non-Destructive Examination methods such as PT, MT, UT, RT, Eddy current testing, and various methods of pressure, vacuum, and leak testing.
  • Working knowledge of ASME Code Section III, V, VIII, IX, and XI, ASME NQA-1, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10CFR 830, DOE Order 414.1D, and ASNT-TC-1A.
  • Lead Auditor Certification compliant with ASME NQA-1 or by outside agency (e.g., Registrar Accreditation Board (RAB), American Society for Quality (ASQ), International Quality Associates (IQA), etc.).
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job including significant experience in nuclear Quality Control, Quality Engineering, and Quality Assurance practices.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee technical quality (i.e., adherence to client, regulatory agency, and company requirements), perform administrative functions (i.e., budgeting, forecasting, staffing, etc.), and help to maintain harmonious client relations
  • Communicate effectively with all labor grades, and contribute ideas that stimulate positive direction of business line personnel
  • Serve as project Quality Manager on large projects, if necessary
  • Serve as the office Quality Manager, if necessary
  • Facilitate the implementation of the Operating System Requirements (OSR) in offices for which responsibility is allocated
  • Serve as a Strategic Business Unit (SBU) or Global Functional Leader, if necessary
  • Other duties as assigned
