The Director, Human Resources provides strategic and operational leadership for the organization’s people practices, ensuring HR systems, programs, and processes enable a high-performing, healthy workplace. This role owns core HR operations across the employee lifecycle and partners with leaders to strengthen workforce planning, talent practices, employee relations, and people systems. The Director collaborates closely with Operations, Compliance, Legal, and Finance to ensure HR practices are clear, consistently applied, and well-supported through strong documentation and dependable execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; HR certification (PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) preferred
  • 8–12+ years of progressive HR experience, including HR operations and employee relations leadership
  • Experience in professional services, agency, or multi-team environments preferred
  • Demonstrated strength in HR systems, documentation, and policy/program governance
  • Strong judgment handling sensitive matters; excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven ability to build scalable programs and lead cross-functional change

Responsibilities

  • Lead HR strategy and execution across the employee lifecycle, aligning programs and practices to organizational priorities
  • Strengthen workforce planning practices in partnership with leaders, supporting role clarity and organizational design needs
  • Own HR operational infrastructure including HRIS governance, employee records, onboarding/offboarding processes, and documentation standards
  • Guide employee relations practices and leader support, ensuring matters are handled with consistency, care, and sound documentation
  • Oversee benefits administration and HR vendor partnerships, ensuring clear communication and reliable employee support
  • Maintain and evolve HR policies and people programs in partnership with Compliance and Legal
  • Improve recruiting operations and hiring practices through structured processes, tools, and consistent candidate experiences
  • Partner with Performance & Development to align competencies, development frameworks, and performance practices
  • Strengthen internal communication and change adoption for HR programs and policy updates
