Responsible for the oversight and direction of the Human Resources function for the Corporation, leading a staff of HR Professionals to execute on all HR related activities in a primarily unionized environment, while ensuring the achievement of corporate and HR strategic priorities. (Disciplines under the purview of Human Resources include, but are not limited to Labor Relations, Dispute Resolution, Recruiting, Benefits, Employee Relations, Training, Management Development, Succession Planning, Performance Management, etc.) Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that support the organization's mission, long-term goals, and processes geared toward continual improvement. Oversee all aspects of talent acquisition, including recruitment, selection, onboarding, and retention strategies to attract top-tier talent and ensure appropriate staffing levels. Manage employee relations, serving as a mediator for disputes and investigations, and advising management on appropriate disciplinary actions, including termination. Research, develop, write, and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (e.g., EEO, ADA, FMLA, OSHA). Oversee and direct all day-to-day labor relations’ administration tasks including handling of grievances at appeal meetings, preparation, and presentation of cases for arbitration hearings. Serve as the HR representative for the Company on subcommittees pursuant to collective bargaining negotiations or resolutions of amendments to collective bargaining agreement Design and implement performance management systems and oversee the development and training programs to enhance employee skills and support career growth and succession planning. Drive initiatives to shape and maintain a positive, inclusive, and healthy workplace culture that boosts employee morale and engagement. Utilize Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) to track key metrics, analyze organizational trends, and prepare reports for senior management to inform data-driven decisions. Develop and manage the annual budget for the human resources department and related programs. Other duties as assigned.
