Reporting directly to the Chief Human Capital Officer, you will manage a vital team overseeing the entire employee lifecycle—from attraction and onboarding to compensation, records, and substitute services. SUMMARY Reporting to the Chief Human Capital Officer, this leader will manage a team responsible for hiring, onboarding, compensation, employee records, substitute services, and HR operations. The ideal candidate is a creative, adaptable leader with strong communication skills, experience in organizational planning and policy implementation, and a passion for fostering a positive work environment. This role is critical to attracting, developing, and retaining a high-quality workforce dedicated to serving TUSD's students and families.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources, including at least three (3) years in a supervisory or management role.
  • or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field and seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources, including at least three (3) years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions
  • Experience in working with diverse constituencies/populations.
  • FBI fingerprint background check.
  • Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
  • MVReport – showing no more than the allowable points against Driver’s License as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees.

Nice To Haves

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR or similar Human Resources certification.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Three years of experience in a public school district or similar public organization (e.g., government).
  • Two years of experience using one or more of the district's specific HRIS products (specifically, Infinite Visions, SpringSchool/TalentEd, Red Rover, Frontline).
