About The Position

DIRECTV is seeking an experienced Director to lead our HR Business Partner (HRBP) Specialist team while driving operational excellence across our Client Partnership Organization. This strategic leadership role combines traditional HRBP Specialist team management with specialized focus on process optimization, standardization, and knowledge management to enhance HR service delivery across the enterprise. Here's what you’ll do: Team Leadership & Management (70%) Lead, develop, and manage a team of HR Business Partner Specialists supporting multiple business units. Advice and counsel, interpretation, direction, clarification and guidance on the full range of HR policies, practices, programs, and issues. Labor agreement interpretation support. Primary contact to investigate HR inquiries from business unit clients, union representatives, and HR partners. Small to medium project management to standardize, optimize, and improve efficiency of employee services operations. Tier 2 Employee Portal support. Client guidance on employee performance management and attendance. Operations and data management for the Employee Services team. International employee administration. Companywide employee program support (e.g., unemployment claims, employment verification, DIRECTV Case Workday back-office support, etc.). Client Partnership Operations Functions (30%) Process Improvements & Standardization Develop and implement best practices and standards for the Client Partnership Organization. Create comprehensive tools, templates, and resources to enhance team effectiveness and consistency. Lead continuous improvement initiatives for HR service delivery, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) to measure operational success. Collaborate closely with HR Centers of Excellence on program design, implementation, and optimization. Drive standardization efforts across all client partnership touchpoints. Knowledge Management & Training Design and deliver comprehensive training programs for HR Business Partner Specialist and the broader Client Partnership Organization. Establish and facilitate knowledge sharing forums and communities of practice to promote collaboration and learning. Maintain current expertise in HR technology, systems, and analytics to drive data-informed decision making. Lead change management initiatives for new HR programs, ensuring smooth adoption and implementation. What you’ll need to be successful:

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5 – 7 years required, 10+ years desired of progressive HR experience with at least 5 years in senior HRBP or HR leadership roles.
  • 3+ years of experience managing teams of HR professionals.
  • Proven track record in process improvement, standardization, and operational excellence.
  • Excellent project management and change management skills.
  • Experience with HR technology platforms and analytics tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with senior executives.
  • Strong coaching and development capabilities.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, data analytics, and reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of employment law and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with process mapping, workflow optimization, and standard operating procedures.
  • Familiarity with training design and delivery methodologies.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in HR, Organizational Psychology, or related field.
  • HR certification (SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent).
  • Experience in large, complex organizations with multiple business units.
  • Background in consulting or shared services environments.
  • Six Sigma, Lean, or other process improvement certifications.
