As Director Housekeeping you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards of Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa. Ensure compliance with hotel brand standards, maintaining Housekeeping department standards covering all guestrooms of the hotel, public areas, all restrooms and food & beverage restaurant, hotel lobby, Marriott Club and hotel entrance area in accordance with the local and company health, sanitation and safety standards. Lead, direct, and administer Housekeeping and Laundry operation 7 days of the week, use of Marriott operating system for room cleanliness, budgeting and forecasting, inventory control, implementation and enforcement of standard operating procedures. Monitor and develop associate performance providing supervision and professional development, conducting performance evaluation and delivering recognition and rewards where applicable. Follow safety and security guidelines to ensure safe work practices to protect health and wellbeing of all associates. Monitors daily time and attendance of associates to prevent any mistakes with payroll and work schedule as per business demands. Train new room attendants as per standards and provide follow-up training as necessary. Participate in interviewing and hiring team members with appropriate skills. Responsible for effective ordering of all guest supplies, cleaning supplies, bed linen, towels and hotel linen requirements. Responsible for monthly Inventory of all Housekeeping and Laundry items. · Responsible for Marriott hotels MI Health Check related to overall guestroom cleanliness and total guest experience. · Reports any unsafe work conditions, room and public area maintenance issue to Director of Engineering. · Ensure proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies by monitoring usage, providing complete training for associates. Ensure correct labeling hazardous supplies in accordance with federal state and local regulations. · Effectively communicate with Housekeeping associates, hotel departments to ensure timely response and completion of guest needs and associate needs. · Ensure that the room inspection program is consistently maintained and rooms released for guest occupancy with no defects. Performs any other duties requested by the hotel management.
